Molly Jahn, George Moriarty and Henry Munger with their AAS winner Bush Delicata Squash bred at Cornell University's Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics.

One of the main aspects of the Organic Seed Partnership is working with public breeders, farmer breeders and seed companies to breed and make available varieties that do well in organic systems and meet the needs of organic growers. Through regional roundtable discussions and additional input from growers we have begun several breeding projects. These projects are being carried out on organic university land, organic farmer's fields, and advanced generations are being trialed with seed companies. Many of these projects are also made possible by additional funds from NE-SARE, the support staff of public breeding programs and the work and dedication of farmer breeders.
