Organic Vegetable Breeding Survey Results - Asking Organic Farmers What they Need!
A 14-page PDF summarizing a breeding survey conducted by NOFA - NY in 2004. The survey was answered by 72 commercial growers and home gardeners. The survey was conducted to pinpoint areas the Organic Seed Partnership, along with other breeding programs, should concentrate on for further study. Topics include varieties you can no longer find, good varieties that need improvment and varieties growers would like to see developed.

Organic Breeding Roundtable Summaries

In the fall of 2004 as part of the USDA - SARE funded grant "Collaborative Breeding for and in Organic Systems," we held 3 organic breeding roundtables in Maine, New York and Pennsylvannia. We also had a shorter organic breeding brainstorming discussion at the 2004 Restoring Our Seed conference in Brattleboro, VT. Roundtables were organized in conjunction with MOFGA, NOFA - NY and PASA.
