Yellow Summer Squash:

  • Cornell's PMR Straightneck
    • Worst PMR and least vigor
    • Yields were good
    • Fruits were pale yellow with bulbous bottoms and crooknecks
  • FCGP yellow squash composite cross from 2002
    • 2nd to Butterstick in PMR
    • displayed good vigor but yields were low due to large number of off-types
  • Butterstick (standard)
    • outperformed other varieties in all catagories
    • plants were vigorous, productive and didn't suffer from PM
    • fruits were uniform, deep yellow in color and straight

Green Zucchini Summer Squash:

  • Cornell's PMR Green Zucchini
    • Despite poor germination, grew vigorously in the field and proved superior in yield and marketability
    • Had greatest PMR
    • Leaves are compound, giving ornamental quality
    • Fruits are smooth, dark green adn glossy, with very few spines
  • Black Beauty (standard)
    • Succumbed to PM
